We offer a wide range of corbels, suitable for use in a variety of applications inside and outside. Used inside the home and hotels corbels can add
a classical feel and grandeur to a room. Externally our corbels can be used to lift and add quality to a building facade.
The generic name is "corbel", but some architects may also denote "Kneelers", "Modillions", or "Dentils". If you are looking to add style to an eaves detail on new build housing please also check out our pre-finished Xterio dentils.
Orac Décor mouldings are installed in many exclusive worldwide developments. Please take the time to view our Projects pages.
Ready for immediate use: Orac Decor corbels are available from stock for dispatch same day. Plaster corbels need to set and dry. Wood
corbels need to be treated with knotting, primed and undercoated.
Clean: Fitting Orac Decor corbels only requires glue, perfect for refurbishment and new build projects. Installing plaster corbels creates considerable amounts of water and dust. Wood corbels normally require nailing, filling the head dent and smoothing off.
Easy to install corbels: Orac Decor corbels, due to their lightweight, only requires glue to install. There is no need to use a mechanical fixing as do plaster or wood corbels. Stone corbels are extremely heavy and require professional fixing. Being lightweight Orac Decor corbels can be installed on to any type of surface, including partitions and board.
Time saving: Orac Decor corbels can be installed faster and easier. Installing plaster corbels, wood corbels and stone corbels is a heavy and difficult job which takes time and skill.
Fast finishing: Orac Decor corbels are supplied pre-primed ready for the chosen final coat of paint. Orac Decor corbels have a smooth surface which does not absorb paint, so only the final coat is required. Plaster corbels require sealing. Plaster corbels are difficult to paint as they do not have a smooth surface and absorb paint requiring multiple coats of paint. Wood corbels need to be knotted, primed and undercoated first.
Detailed design features: Traditional plaster corbels moulds tend to produce rounded detail. The steel moulds used for Orac Decor corbels are very detailed and precise. The repeated use of plaster corbel moulds rounds the detail whereas with Orac Decor corbels the detailing is consistent. Wood corbels and stone corbels are limited in the designs that can be achieved and lack sharp detail.
Strong & shock resistant: Orac Decor corbels are tough and difficult to break. Plaster corbels can be easily broken and shattered.
Developing cracks: Plaster and wood corbels can crack through ageing.
Suitable in humid environments and exterior use: Orac Decor corbels are impervious to moisture. Plaster and wood corbels can take in moisture and so are less suitable for humid and exterior use.
